Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets rules for all Homeowners, Contractors, and visitors using the JobDeposit Platform operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME] ("JobDeposit," "we," "us"). It is part of the Terms of Service and works alongside the Payment & Funds-Holding Terms, AI Photo Verification Disclaimer, Dispute Resolution Policy, Contractor Agreement, Lead Generation Terms, and Privacy Policy.

1. Prohibited conduct

When using the JobDeposit Platform, you may not:

  1. Falsify or manipulate job-site photos: submit false, altered, edited, AI-generated, stock, staged, reused, duplicate, or off-site task or dispute photos, or strip, spoof, or falsify EXIF timestamps or GPS coordinates (see the AI Photo Verification Disclaimer).
  2. Misrepresent credentials or bank ownership: submit false, expired, or borrowed contractor licenses, insurance policies (COIs), federal EINs, identity documents, or link a personal or third-party bank account in place of a verified business bank account (see the Contractor Agreement and Verification Badge Disclaimer).
  3. Operate outside licensed trades or supported service areas: offer, bid on, or perform remodeling work for which you lack required state/local licensing, or submit projects or accounts in jurisdictions excluded from our service area (SERVICE_STATES).
  4. Circumvent held deposits or milestone payments: solicit, arrange, or accept off-Platform payments for projects or parties introduced through JobDeposit to evade platform fees or held-deposit protections during the non-circumvention period stated in the Terms of Service.
  5. Abuse disputes, chargebacks, or reviews: file fabricated or bad-faith milestone disputes, submit false chargebacks, post fake or coerced reviews, or retaliate against a party for filing a good-faith dispute under the Dispute Resolution Policy.
  6. Misuse Lead or user data: use Homeowner or Contractor contact details obtained through JobDeposit for cold outreach, resale, lead brokering, or any purpose other than the specific project request (see the Lead Generation Terms).
  7. Harass, threaten, or discriminate: engage in threats, harassment, hate speech, or unlawful discrimination (including under federal and state civil-rights and fair-housing laws), or photograph people or private documents without permission.
  8. Interfere with Platform security: scrape, spider, reverse engineer, probe, overload, bypass authentication or rate limits, or run unauthorized bots or scripts against the Platform.
  9. Upload harmful or infringing material: transmit malware, spyware, or content that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights.
  10. Engage in financial crime: use JobDeposit for money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, sham transactions, or any unlawful activity.

2. Enforcement and reporting

Violations of this AUP may result in immediate rejection of task photos, revocation of the Verified Pro badge, holds on unreleased held deposit funds or milestone payments, transfer reversals/clawbacks under the Payment & Funds-Holding Terms, account suspension or termination, and referral to law enforcement or state contractor licensing boards.
